Yakovlev Yak 1B

The Yakovlev Yak-1B was a prominent Soviet fighter used during World War II, appearing at the front in late 1942 and serving as a key "workhorse" for the Soviet Air Force (VVS) through 1945. It was heavily utilized during the Battle of Stalingrad (1942-1943) and the Battle of Kursk (1943), particularly for escorting Il-2 Sturmoviks and engaging German aircraft at low altitudes.
