The Supermarine Seafire Mk.III was a prominent World War II Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm fighter, heavily used from 1944 for carrier-based air defense and ground support. It played key roles in the Normandy landings, Operation Dragoon, and against Japanese kamikazes in the Pacific. It was also used post-war by the French in Indochina and the Irish Air Corps.
