Junkers Ju-188E

The Junkers Ju 88, a highly versatile, twin-engine aircraft, served extensively in World War II as a medium/dive bomber, night fighter, torpedo bomber, and reconnaissance plane across all major European fronts, including the Mediterranean and North African theaters. Developed as a Luftwaffe mainstay, it was used for: 
 
Key Campaigns: Heavily utilized during the invasions of Poland, Norway, France, and Yugoslavia, the Battle of Britain, and the siege of Malta.
Eastern Front: Operationally vital in Russia for bombing and long-range reconnaissance.
Maritime Operations: Employed for torpedo attacks against Allied shipping in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
Defensive Roles: Late in the war, it was deployed as a night fighter to intercept bombers. 
 
The Ju 88 was also flown by Axis-allied nations, including Finland, Romania, and Italy.
