The Hawker Hurricane Mk.IId "tank buster" was primarily used in the North African campaign against German and Italian armored vehicles, entering service with No. 6 Squadron RAF in June 1942. Known as "Flying Can Openers," they operated in Egypt and Tunisia, including during the Battle of El Alamein, and saw limited use in the Far East.
