Historical Information
Ryujo was a purpose-built light aircraft carrier whose construction began at Mitsubishi's Yokohama yard and was completed at Yokosuka Naval Arsenal. Commissioned in 1933, she served extensively before and during the Pacific War despite her small size and top-heavy design.

Fate / Postwar Disposition: Sunk by U.S. carrier aircraft during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons on 24 August 1942.
