The Aermacchi MB-339A is an Italian-designed jet trainer and light attack aircraft primarily used by the Italian Air Force and exported to militaries in Argentina, Malaysia, Eritrea, Nigeria, Peru, Ghana, and the United Arab Emirates. It also saw active combat and aerobatic service globally.
 
Military and Combat Operations
Argentina: During the 1982 Falklands War, Argentine Naval Aviation deployed MB-339As in the light attack role against British forces.
Eritrea: The Eritrean Air Force utilized their MB-339 fleet in various combat roles (including anti-insurgency and against the Ethiopian Air Force) during the Eritrean–Ethiopian War (1998–2000).
Other Operators: The aircraft has been widely used for pilot instruction and ground-attack missions by the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the Nigerian Air Force, the Peruvian Air Force, and the UAE Air Force.
