A-4M Skyhawk USMC variant with Drop Tanks
This is an ErikGen design. We are an approved printer for EriKGen designs. His exquisite STLs can be purchased and self printed here: EriKGen Designs.
Please note: 1-200 & 1-144 scale prints will receive 3 fuel probes. We do not ship probes for 1-300 or 1-285 scale prints. The are just too small, thin, and break easily. I use a bristle from a brush for my models as they are much more flexible. for 1-200 scale I use a "cut to length" piece of jewelry brass/copper wire from the craft store.
The A-4M Skyhawk II was a specialized, upgraded variant primarily used by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) from the 1970s to 1994, focusing on close air support. Known for its superior performance, it was operated by squadrons like VMA-223 and VMA-331 before retiring from active service in 1994.
- US Marine Corps Service: The A-4M operated as a dedicated attack jet with a more powerful engine and upgraded systems for USMC operational needs.
- Operational Period: It was developed later in the A-4 lifespan, with units like VMA-223 "Bulldogs" and VMA-331 "Bumblebees" using it, and it was retired in 1994, although some A-4 versions stayed in service elsewhere.
The A-4M was not used in the Vietnam War (where older versions like the A-4C/E/F were used) but was the definitive Marine version of the late Cold War era.
