1-144 German WWI Tail Marking Balkenkreuz black

This 1/144 scale German WWI tail-marking decal sheet is designed to supplement standard wing and fuselage Balkenkreuz sheets on aircraft with small or very small rudders.
Historical Background
In mid-April 1918, the German Air Service adopted the straight-sided black cross commonly known as the Balkenkreuz, replacing the earlier cross pattée or “Iron Cross” style. Because the new markings were applied to many aircraft already in service, considerable variation appeared in proportions, bar thickness, and the way the cross fitted individual tail surfaces.

The sheet includes two Balkenkreuz styles in multiple sizes:
Standard straight-sided Balkenkreuz
Taller, narrower Balkenkreuz for especially small rudders
This black-only set is useful for 1/144 German fighters, reconnaissance aircraft, and other WWI types whose tail surfaces require markings smaller than those normally included on wing and fuselage sheets.
