1-144 German WWI Iron Cross Style #1

This 1/144 scale German WWI Iron Cross Style #1 decal sheet provides early-war German aircraft national markings for fighters, reconnaissance aircraft, and bombers.
Historical Background
From the opening years of World War I until spring 1918, German military aircraft used a black cross pattée, commonly called the “Iron Cross,” as a national identification marking. Crosses were carried on the wings and commonly on the fuselage and tail surfaces. Exact proportions, placement, and the use of white fields or borders varied considerably between aircraft and units. In mid-April 1918, this earlier style began to be replaced by the straight-sided Balkenkreuz.
Available Sheet Sizes
Medium: suitable for many bombers and larger fighters such as Fokker D-series, Roland, and Pfalz types.
Small: useful for smaller rudders and aircraft such as Albatros, Fokker E.III, and Halberstadt D.II types.
