1-144 German WWI Balkenkreuz Style #2 Cross

This 1/144 scale German WWI Balkenkreuz Style #2 decal sheet represents a narrower-bar variation of the straight-sided national cross used during the final months of World War I.
Historical Background
In mid-April 1918, the German Air Service replaced the earlier cross pattée or “Iron Cross” national marking with the straight-sided Balkenkreuz. As the new marking was standardized and applied across different aircraft, variations appeared in bar thickness, proportions, and outlines. This Style #2 sheet provides a thinner cross option for aircraft where the heavier early form is not appropriate.
Available Sheet Sizes
Large: intended for most Gotha-size bombers, very large fighters, and gunships. Zeppelin-Staaken aircraft require still larger markings.
Medium: suitable for many bombers and larger fighters such as Fokker D-series, Roland, and Pfalz types.
Small: useful for small rudders and smaller fighters such as Albatros, Fokker E.III, and Halberstadt D.II types.
