The Dassault Rafale B is the twin-seat, land-based variant of the French omnirole fighter, with the B01 preproduction aircraft making its first flight on April 30, 1993. Originally intended for training, its role shifted to combat after the Gulf War demonstrated the need for a second crew member, with the first operational units delivered in 2004. 
 
Development & Testing: The Rafale B01 served as a critical test platform for weapons, the RBE2 radar, and the SPECTRA electronic warfare suite.
Operational History: Rafale Bs were delivered to the CEAM at Mont-de-Marsan in late 2004 for evaluation and pilot conversion, with the first frontline unit, Escadron de Chasse 1/7 "Provence," forming in 2006.
Combat Experience: The Rafale has been combat-proven since 2007, operating in Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Iraq, and Syria.
Design & Role: As part of the Rafale family, the B model is designed for air-to-air combat, deep strikes, and nuclear deterrence, capable of carrying a wide range of weapons, including the MBDA Meteor and SCALP EG cruise missiles.
Export Success: The Rafale has achieved significant international sales, with orders from Egypt, India, Qatar, Greece, Croatia, Indonesia, UAE, and Serbia.
