1-300 CV Kaga Carrier Div 1 Air Wing: Zeros, Vals, Kates Decals
CV Kaga Carrier Division 1 Air Wing – Zeros, Vals & Kates
This set provides markings for the early-war air group of the Imperial Japanese Navy carrier Kaga, which operated with Akagi in Carrier Division 1. Kaga’s striking force included Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighters, Aichi D3A “Val” dive bombers, and Nakajima B5N “Kate” torpedo/level bombers.
Historical Context
Kaga was one of the six Japanese fleet carriers used in the attack on Pearl Harbor and took part in the opening offensives across the Pacific. She later sailed with Akagi, Soryu and Hiryu for the Battle of Midway, where U.S. Navy dive bombers fatally damaged Kaga on June 4, 1942.
