1-1800 Scale Generic Independence Class CVL Deck Marking Decals
Generic 1-1800 scale flight deck markings for U.S. Navy Independence Class light carriers. They are printed on clear-background waterslide decal paper, allowing the modeler to paint the deck in any desired color before applying the decal over the painted surface.
 
Included Markings
This set includes sufficient generic flight deck markings to complete up to four Independence Class CVL miniatures.
The markings are supplied as individual components so they can be positioned and trimmed to fit the specific 3D-printed miniature being used.
Although designed for Independence Class light carriers, the individual markings can also be trimmed and adapted for use on Sangamon Class and Bogue Class escort carrier miniatures where appropriate.
For ship-specific flight deck identification numbers, these markings can be used in conjunction with the 1-1800 Scale USN Independence, Sangamon & Bogue Class CVE Deck Number Decals.
 
Model Compatibility
Designed for reasonably accurate 1-1800 scale 3D-printed Independence Class light carriers. Because flight deck dimensions, elevator placement, deck-edge details, and other dimensions may vary between different 3D-print designers and manufacturers, individual markings should be test-fitted and trimmed as necessary before application.
When adapting the markings to Sangamon or Bogue Class escort carriers, additional trimming and repositioning may be required to match the different flight deck dimensions and layouts of those classes.
 
Application
Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques. For more information on surface preparation, see Why Gloss Clear Coat?.
Because this is a generic marking set, the individual deck markings can be positioned as needed to best match the dimensions and configuration of the miniature being modeled.
