Pre-War Teak Deck represents the lighter natural wood appearance of U.S. Navy carrier flight decks before wartime blue deck stains became standard. Exposure to sunlight, salt air, weather, and flight operations could produce variations in teak and weathered wood tones.
 
Historical Information
The USS Wasp (CV-7) was a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier commissioned on April 25, 1940. The sole ship of her class, she was designed within the remaining aircraft-carrier tonnage permitted to the United States under interwar naval treaties.
 
Wasp initially supported operations in the Atlantic and delivered aircraft to Malta before transferring to the Pacific in 1942. She supported the Guadalcanal campaign until she was torpedoed by the Japanese submarine I-19 and subsequently scuttled on September 15, 1942.
