Pre-War Teak Deck represents the lighter natural wood appearance of U.S. Navy carrier flight decks before wartime blue deck stains became standard. Exposure to sunlight, salt air, weather, and flight operations could produce variations in teak and weathered wood tones.
 
Historical Information
The USS Ranger (CV-4) was the first U.S. Navy ship designed and constructed from the keel up as an aircraft carrier. The sole member of her class, she was commissioned on June 4, 1934.
 
Ranger served primarily in the Atlantic during World War II. She supported Operation Torch in North Africa, attacked German shipping and installations during Operation Leader off Norway, ferried aircraft, and later trained carrier aviators.
