USS Coral Sea (CV-43) Postwar Deck 1-2400
USS Coral Sea (CV-43) Post War Deck — 1-2400 Scale Deck Decal
Historically accurate 1-2400 scale aircraft carrier deck decal representing USS Coral Sea (CV-43) in the Post War Deck configuration.
This Post War Deck version represents the ship’s post-World War II carrier configuration as depicted by the Alnavco/Superior miniature. Coral Sea was extensively modernized for jet aircraft and angled-deck operations, and her flight-deck layout and markings evolved across more than four decades of service.
Historical Information
The USS Coral Sea (CVB/CVA/CV-43) was the third and final completed Midway-class aircraft carrier. Built by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, she was commissioned on October 1, 1947 and entered service too late for World War II combat.
Coral Sea became one of the Navy’s most active Cold War carriers. She operated during the Suez Crisis, made repeated Vietnam War combat deployments, supported the evacuation of Saigon and the SS Mayaguez response in 1975, and later flew combat missions during U.S. operations against Libya in 1986.
