Historical Information
HMS Colossus (R15), the name ship of the Colossus class, was built by Vickers-Armstrongs and commissioned in December 1944. She sailed for the Far East in 1945 and served with the British Pacific Fleet as the war ended, then performed aircraft transport and repatriation duties before being loaned to France in 1946 as Arromanches.
