Historical Information
The Royal Navy’s Attacker- and Ruler-class escort carriers were American-built ships supplied under Lend-Lease and based on the U.S. Bogue-family design. The Attacker class comprised converted C3 merchant hulls, while the later Ruler class was built as escort carriers; both types served in convoy escort, amphibious operations, aircraft ferry work, anti-submarine patrols, and later Indian Ocean and Pacific operations.
