These 1-300 Syrian Air Force Fin Flash decals reproduce the familiar red-white-black Syrian national flag marking associated with the Syrian Arab Air Force during much of the late Cold War and post-Cold War period.
Syrian military aircraft markings changed several times as the country's national flag changed. The familiar design featuring horizontal red, white, and black bands with two green stars in the white band was originally associated with the United Arab Republic period and was readopted by Syria in 1980.
From 1980 through 2024, the corresponding national flag was widely used as the fin flash on Syrian military aircraft. It appeared alongside the matching Syrian roundel on a large fleet dominated by Soviet and Russian-designed equipment.
Aircraft associated with this marking include the MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-25, MiG-29, Su-20, Su-22, Su-24, L-39 Albatros, Mi-8, Mi-17, and Mi-24.
Following the political changes in Syria beginning in late 2024, new national aircraft markings were introduced. This sheet therefore represents the familiar 1980-2024 Syrian Arab Air Force fin flash, rather than the newest post-2024 marking.
