The Sukhoi Su-24M "Fencer" is an all-weather tactical bomber extensively used by the Soviet Union, Russia, Ukraine, and Syria, primarily for ground-attack missions. Key deployments include the Soviet-Afghan War, Chechen Wars, 2008 Russo-Georgian War, Syrian Civil War, and the ongoing Ukraine conflict, where it carries Western-supplied cruise missiles.
- Soviet Union: Initial combat use in the Soviet–Afghan War (1984, 1988).
- Russia: Used extensively in the First and Second Chechen Wars, the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, and since 2015 in the Syrian Civil War.
- Ukraine: Active in the War in Donbas (from 2014) and extensively in the 2022-2024 invasion of Ukraine, notably launching Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG missiles.
- Syria: Used in the Lebanese Civil War (1990) and the ongoing Syrian Civil War.
- Other Operators: Used by the Uzbek Air Force during the Tajik civil war and by Sudan in the Yemeni Civil War.
