The SPAD S.11, was a French two-seat biplane reconnaissance aircraft used during World War I. Designed by Louis Béchereau, it was based on the successful single-seat SPAD S.VII fighter but was much less successful in its own role. 

 

Despite its flaws, around 1,000 SPAD S.XIs were produced to replace obsolete aircraft in reconnaissance squadrons. It was used by the air forces of France, Belgium, the United States, Russia, and Japan. American squadrons
