The Sopwith Triplane was a highly maneuverable British fighter developed primarily for the Royal Naval Air Service.
Its distinctive three-wing arrangement provided excellent climb and maneuverability, and the aircraft made a strong impression during its relatively brief front-line career in 1917. It became particularly associated with the famous Black Flight of No. 10 Squadron RNAS.
