Historical Background
The Sopwith Pup was a highly maneuverable British single-seat fighter used extensively by both the Royal Naval Air Service and Royal Flying Corps.
Entering combat during 1916, the Pup earned an excellent reputation for its pleasant handling and maneuverability. Naval Pups were also important in early experiments operating aircraft from warships.
