The Saab J 29F Tunnan was the final major fighter version of the Tunnan family. It incorporated an afterburning engine and air-to-air missile capability, significantly improving the performance and combat value of the original J 29 design.
By the time the J 29F entered service, the Tunnan had already established itself as one of Sweden's most successful early jet fighters.
