The Saab J32B Lansen was used exclusively by the Swedish Air Force (Flygvapnet). It was never exported to or operated by any other military force.
The J32B, which served as an all-weather fighter and interceptor, was deployed across several key locations and roles:
 
Primary Fighter Defense: Flown in 13 different Swedish Air Force squadrons (including F1, F3, F4, and F16), the aircraft was primarily tasked with patrolling the Baltic Sea and Swedish airspace during the Cold War.
Specialized Conversions: Following its retirement as an interceptor in the early 1970s, many J32B airframes were converted into electronic warfare (EW) platforms and target-towing aircraft.
