Roland D.II

Roland D.II

$5.00Price

The LFG Roland D.II was basically a cleaned-up L.F.G. Roland D.I, with top-wing radiators rather than ear radiators. The crash pylon on the top wing was removed and the exhaust was directed downward rather than upward, accommodating the high seating position of the pilot. It started service in early 1917 but, like the D.I, was disliked for its limited forward view, and it was withdrawn by late autumn 1917.
