Historical Background
The Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2C was one of the most widely used British reconnaissance aircraft during the early years of World War I.
Designed as a stable observation platform, it performed reconnaissance, aerial photography, artillery observation, bombing, and home-defense missions. Although increasingly vulnerable as fighter technology advanced, the B.E.2C remained an important RFC aircraft for much of the war.
