This Kiev class deck decal is designed for 1-3000 NavWar miniatures.

Decal Information

This 1-3000 scale waterslide decal reproduces the deck markings for the Kiev class during that period of time. Customers report that most decals fit Davco ship castings fairly well. Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques.

Sized to NavWar's Kiev model. Use for Kiev, Minsk, and Novorossiysk. This decal will NOT fit on NavWar Admiral Gorshkov model.

Historical Information

The Kiev class, Project 1143 Krechyet, entered service in 1975 as the Soviet Navy's first class to operate fixed-wing V/STOL aircraft alongside helicopters. Four ships were completed, combining Yak-38 aircraft and Kamov helicopters with heavy anti-ship missiles, surface-to-air missiles, guns, and anti-submarine weapons; all were retired from Soviet or Russian naval service after the Cold War.
