IJN Katakana DD Amidships Names — 1-1800 Scale Set 2 Decals

IJN Katakana DD Amidships Names — 1-1800 Scale Set 2 Decals
1-1800 scale waterslide amidships name decals for Imperial Japanese Navy destroyers. The sheet provides white Katakana ship names with corresponding English ship-name references for easier identification and is designed for miniature naval gaming and display.

Historical Information
Imperial Japanese Navy destroyers commonly carried their ship names in Japanese characters on the hull during the prewar and early-war period. Destroyer names were traditionally drawn from natural phenomena such as wind, waves, rain, clouds, tides, and seasonal imagery.
On many destroyers, the name was displayed amidships in large white phonetic characters so the vessel could be identified visually. These markings were particularly useful in fleet operations, exercises, and close formation work.
This decal set reproduces those distinctive Japanese destroyer name markings for use on 1-1800 scale miniature ships.

Model Compatibility
Designed for 1-1800 scale IJN destroyer miniatures. Because hull height, amidships space, and hull dimensions can vary between manufacturers, test-fit the markings before application.

Application
Apply over a properly prepared and gloss-coated model surface using normal waterslide-decal techniques. For more information on proper surface preparation, see Why Gloss Clear Coat?
