The F-84G Thunderjet (late variant) was primarily used as a tactical nuclear weapon carrier and fighter-bomber by the US Air Force and NATO allies during the early Cold War (1950s). It was used in Korea for close air support, operated extensively in Europe for NATO defense, and was utilized by the ROCAF in Taiwan.

  • Europe (NATO/USAF): Served as the primary Nuclear Strike Fighter for NATO in Europe, with key operators including the Italian Air Force (5th, 51st, 6th Wings).

  • Taiwan (ROCAF): Received in 1953 as part of the Mutual Assistance Program, it was the cornerstone of the Taiwanese air force and saw combat during the Taiwan Strait Crisis.

  • Other Deployments: Used by Portugal in the Portuguese Overseas War in Angola.
