Historical Context
The F-80C Shooting Star was utilized extensively as the first operational jet fighter of the United States Air Force, primarily during the Korean War (1950–1953) for ground-attack missions. It saw service as a fighter-bomber, day fighter, and reconnaissance aircraft, flying close to 100,000 sorties. 
Primary Areas of Operation:
Korea (1950-1953): Used heavily for low-level napalm, rocket, and bomb attacks, operating from bases like Suwon (K-13), Taegu (K-2), and Kimpo.
Japan (1948-1950s): Deployed for air defense and training before and during the early stages of the Korean War.
Europe (1948): F-80Cs were part of the first transatlantic jet deployment for air defense, operating from locations such as Germany. 
Key Historical Roles:
First Jet Combat: Conducted the first all-jet battle, shooting down a MiG-15 on November 8, 1950.
International Use: Later supplied to South American nations, including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Uruguay.
