Historical Context
The F-104C Starfighter was primarily used by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) as a supersonic interceptor and fighter-bomber, notably serving in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. Deployed with the 479th Tactical Fighter Wing, it served in Southeast Asia (Vietnam and Thailand) and was stationed at bases in California and Spain. It was designed for air superiority but was used for ground support, airstrikes, and escort missions.

Vietnam War: Stationed at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base, 1965–1967, to conduct air superiority, combat air patrol, and close air support.
