The McDonnell CF-101 Voodoo was used exclusively as an all-weather interceptor for the Royal Canadian Air Force (later Canadian Armed Forces). Operating from 1961 to 1984 under NORAD to protect North American airspace, they were deployed from Quick Reaction Alert facilities at bases across Canada.
Specific operational locations in Canada included:
- CFB Chatham (New Brunswick): Home to No. 416 "Lynx" Squadron.
- CFB Comox (British Columbia): Home to No. 409 "Nighthawk" Squadron, which covered the western approaches and Canadian Pacific coastline.
- CFB Bagotville (Quebec): Another primary base where Voodoos were stationed during their frontline operational years.
