F-100D Super Sabre

F-100D Super Sabre

From $4.70Price

This is an ErikGen design. We are an approved printer for EriKGen designs. His exquisite STLs can be purchased and self printed here: EriKGen Designs.

Please note: 1-200 & 1-144 scale prints will receive 3 fuel probes. We do not ship probes for 1-300 or 1-285 scale prints. The are just too small, thin, and break easily. I use a bristle from a brush for my models as they are much more flexible. For 1-200 scale I use a "cut to length" piece of jewelry brass/copper wire from the craft store.

The F-100D Super Sabre was primarily used as a fighter-bomber during the Vietnam War (1964–1971), flying over 360,000 combat sorties for close air support and ground attacks. It was also deployed in Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, and served in the Cold War in Europe and with the Air National Guard.

Key deployment details for the F-100D "Hun" include:

  • Vietnam & Southeast Asia: Stationed at bases including Tuy Hoa and Phan Rang. It was the primary close air support aircraft early in the war.
  • Cold War/Europe: Deployed to NATO bases, including Incirlik Air Base in Turkey.
  • The Thunderbirds: Used by the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron from 1956 to 1968.
  • Other Operators: Used by France, Denmark, Turkey, and the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The F-100D was designed for supersonic, close-air support and served as the first USAF fighter to fly combat missions in Vietnam.
