Historical Context
The Dassault MD 452 Mystère IV was a major French transonic fighter developed from the Mystère II. The prototype first flew on September 28, 1952, and production Mystère IVA aircraft entered French service in the mid-1950s.
Its thinner, more highly swept wing gave substantially better high-speed performance and helped establish France as a major postwar jet-fighter producer.

Development and Origin: Developed from the Mystère II with a redesigned wing and improved aerodynamic refinement; production aircraft used Rolls-Royce Tay or Hispano-Suiza Verdon engines.
Military and Combat Operations:

Foreign Combat: Israeli and Indian Mystère IVs saw combat in regional wars during the 1950s and 1960s.
Foreign Operators:
Israel: Used the Mystère IVA in combat, including the 1956 Suez conflict.
India: Operated Mystère IVA aircraft in fighter-bomber roles.
Upgrades and Retirement: Later French use shifted increasingly toward training as newer supersonic fighters entered service.
Design and Armament: Single-seat swept-wing fighter with 30 mm cannon and underwing capacity for bombs, rockets, and external fuel tanks.
