USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73) was a Casablanca-class escort carrier commissioned in December 1943. She supported operations in the Marianas and later joined Taffy 3 for the Leyte campaign. During the Battle off Samar on 25 October 1944, Gambier Bay was caught by Japanese battleships and cruisers and was sunk by surface gunfire.
