USS Fanshaw Bay (CVE-70) was a Casablanca-class escort carrier commissioned in December 1943. She supported operations in the Marianas and later served as Rear Admiral Clifton Sprague’s flagship with Taffy 3 during the Battle off Samar. Fanshaw Bay survived the action and continued supporting operations in the Philippines and at Okinawa.
