Historical Information

USS Casablanca (CVE-55) was the lead ship of the 50-ship Casablanca class, the most numerous aircraft-carrier class ever constructed. Commissioned in July 1943, she was used primarily for training, carrier qualification, and aircraft transport duties in support of the Pacific war effort rather than front-line combat.
