CV Shokaku 5th Carrier Division Air Wing – Zeros, Vals & Kates

Recreate the early-war air group of the Imperial Japanese Navy carrier Shokaku, a member of Carrier Division 5 alongside Zuikaku. Shokaku’s air group operated the Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter, Aichi D3A “Val” dive bomber, and Nakajima B5N “Kate” torpedo/level bomber.

Historical Context

Shokaku participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and later fought at the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942. Damage suffered there kept Shokaku out of the Battle of Midway, while the carrier later returned to major combat operations in the Solomons and Central Pacific.

Product Features

  • 1-300 scale Imperial Japanese Navy carrier-aircraft markings
  • Designed for Zero, Val and Kate aircraft
  • Specifically sized for Roman Troyan “Plane Printer” STL aircraft printed at 1-300 scale
  • Includes period-style individual aircraft, leader/rank and tail-code markings
  • Thin waterslide decals; markings must be individually cut from the sheet
  • Wing and fuselage Hinomaru are not included

Ideal for building a historically themed Shokaku air group for Pearl Harbor and other early Pacific War scenarios.
