From $2.68Price

The Junkers Ju-87B "Stuka" was primarily used as a close-support dive bomber by the German Luftwaffe across all major European theaters, notably in Poland (1939), the Blitzkrieg in France, the Netherlands, Belgium (1940), the Battle of Britain, the Balkans, North Africa, and extensively on the Eastern Front.

Key Operational Details:

  • Role: Precision ground-attack, anti-shipping, and psychological warfare (using "Jericho's Trumpets" sirens).
  • Key Campaigns: Spearheaded invasions of Poland, France, and the Balkans.
  • Theaters: Western Europe, Mediterranean, North Africa, and the Soviet Union.
  • Limitations: Due to low speed and poor maneuverability, it suffered heavy losses during the Battle of Britain when facing superior fighter opposition.
  • Usage: It remained in service for tactical, close-air support throughout the war until replaced by the Focke-Wulf Fw 190.
