Historical Background
The Breguet 14 was one of the most successful French two-seat reconnaissance and bomber aircraft of World War I. Entering service during 1917, it combined strong performance with an advanced structure that made extensive use of aluminum alloys at a time when most aircraft still relied heavily on wood.
The type served extensively with the French Aéronautique Militaire in reconnaissance and bombing units and was also operated by several Allied air services during and after the war.
