The UH-1Y Venom (also known as the "Super Huey" or "Yankee") has been used extensively by the USMC and the Czech Air Force across global combat operations, shipboard maritime deployments, and international exercises.

Combat Deployments

  • Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom): The Venom saw its first official combat deployment in 2009 in Afghanistan with the Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 (HMLA-367). It was used extensively for troop transport, casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), and close air support.

  • Libya: The USMC deployed the UH-1Y to provide critical air support, armed escort, and reconnaissance during military interventions in the region.

Maritime & Global Deployments

  • Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs): As a fully marinized aircraft built to withstand harsh saltwater environments, the Venom is regularly stationed aboard U.S. Navy amphibious assault ships. It has been deployed to the Indian Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and the Pacific to support anti-piracy, counter-drug trafficking, and crisis-response missions.

International Operators

Czech Republic: Beyond the United States, the Czech Air Force integrated a mixed fleet of UH-1Y Venoms and AH-1Z Vipers into its active military inventory for European defense and NATO modernization efforts.
