Bearn (CV): Variant #2 — 1-2400 Scale Deck Decal
A detailed 1-2400 scale flight deck decal representing the French aircraft carrier Béarn, presented here as Variant #2.
Historical Information
Béarn was converted from an unfinished Normandie-class battleship hull and commissioned on 5 December 1927, becoming France’s first completed aircraft carrier. Too slow for modern fleet operations by the late 1930s, she nevertheless played an important wartime transport role, carrying aircraft and French gold across the Atlantic before spending much of the Vichy period at Martinique. After refit she returned to transport duties late in the war and supported French movements to Indochina before being reduced to secondary service and eventually scrapped.
