Aquila (CV) Version 1 — 1-2400 Scale Deck Decal
Aquila (CV): Variant #1 — 1-2400 Scale Deck Decal
A detailed 1-2400 scale flight deck decal representing the Italian aircraft carrier Aquila, presented here as Variant #1.
Historical Information
Aquila was created from the Italian passenger liner Roma after the Regia Marina revived its carrier program during World War II. Conversion work began in Genoa in 1941 and produced an extensively rebuilt ship with new machinery, a full flight deck, and a planned modern air group, but Italy’s September 1943 armistice halted completion before the carrier could enter service. Seized by German and Italian Social Republic forces, Aquila was later sabotaged and partially sunk in 1945, then raised after the war and scrapped in 1952.
