Ansaldo SVA-5
$5.00Price
Historical Background
The Ansaldo SVA-5 was a fast Italian single-seat reconnaissance and light-bomber aircraft introduced during the later stages of World War I. Its speed, range, and high-altitude performance made it especially well suited for long-distance reconnaissance and offensive missions.
The SVA-5 became closely associated with the famous 9 August 1918 flight over Vienna by aircraft of the 87th Squadriglia “La Serenissima,” one of the best-known Italian aviation operations of the war.
