Historical Background
The later Albatros D.II retained the improved visibility and strong performance of the original design while incorporating changes to its cooling system.
Later aircraft replaced the earlier fuselage-side radiators with an upper-wing mounted radiator. The D.II played an important role in German fighter operations before the arrival of the Albatros D.III.
