Historical Context
The Aermacchi MB-326 was an Italian jet trainer and light attack aircraft designed in the 1950s to provide economical basic through advanced jet training in a single airframe. The prototype first flew in 1957, and the type entered Italian Air Force service in the early 1960s.

Development and Origin: Designed by Ermanno Bazzocchi, the MB-326 used a simple straight-wing configuration, tandem seating, and a Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet.

Export Combat Use: Armed derivatives and license-built versions saw operational use with several foreign air forces.
