Please note: 1-200 & 1-144 scale prints will receive 3 fuel probes. We do not ship probes for 1-300 or 1-285 scale prints. They are just too small, thin, and break easily. I use a brush bristle for my models as they are much more flexible. for 1-200 scale I use a "cut to length" piece of jewelry brass/copper 26 gauge wire from the craft store.
 
 
Historical Context
The Douglas A-4Q Skyhawk was the Argentine Naval Aviation version of the A-4 Skyhawk, developed from refurbished former U.S. Navy and Marine Corps A-4B airframes. Argentina ordered 16 A-4Qs in 1971 for operation by the 3ª Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Caza y Ataque and for use from the aircraft carrier ARA Veinticinco de Mayo.
The compact Skyhawk was particularly well suited to carrier operations, combining a small airframe with useful strike performance and the ability to carry bombs, external tanks, and air-to-air missiles.

Development and Origin: The A-4 family first flew in 1954 and entered U.S. Navy service in the 1950s. Argentina's A-4Qs were rebuilt A-4Bs modified for naval service with updated equipment and Sidewinder capability.
Military and Combat Operations:
Argentine Naval Aviation: A-4Qs served aboard ARA Veinticinco de Mayo as the Navy's principal carrier-based strike fighters.
Falklands/Malvinas War – 1982: The A-4Qs initially operated with the carrier group. After the carrier withdrew from the combat area, the squadron deployed to Río Grande and conducted land-based strike missions against British naval forces.
Foreign Operators: The A-4Q designation was specific to the Argentine Navy, although the broader Skyhawk family served with numerous air forces and navies worldwide.
Upgrades and Retirement: The A-4Q remained in Argentine naval service through the 1980s and was retired in 1988, ending Argentina's operational use of the carrier-capable Skyhawk.
Design and Armament: The A-4Q retained the Skyhawk's compact single-seat layout, two 20 mm cannon, multiple underwing stations, and ability to carry bombs, rockets, external fuel tanks, and AIM-9 Sidewinders. This model represents the clean or fuel-tank configuration identified in the product title.
The A-4Q gave Argentine Naval Aviation a genuine fixed-wing carrier strike capability and became one of the service's best-known combat aircraft of the South Atlantic war.
