Historical Information

No. 428 (Ghost) Squadron RCAF began its operational career with Wellingtons as part of No. 6 (RCAF) Group. It later moved to heavy bombers, making the Wellington markings representative of the unit's earlier wartime service.

No. 300 Squadron was the first Polish bomber squadron formed in Britain. Its conversion to the Wellington in 1940 placed Polish aircrew within Bomber Command's developing offensive.

No. 115 Squadron RAF was a long-serving Wellington operator before converting to Lancaster IIs in 1943. Its operational history illustrates the Wellington's importance before four-engined aircraft became dominant.

Together, the Canadian, Polish, and RAF options show the multinational character of Wellington operations. Choose the codes and national details as a complete unit-specific scheme, and match them to the aircraft's period of service.
