Historical Information
This decal set reproduces the modern Republic of Singapore Air Force national roundel featuring the Lion Head, one of Singapore's best-known national symbols. The full-color red design provides a bold national identification marking for aircraft carrying standard or ceremonial schemes.
 
Singapore established the Singapore Air Defence Command in 1968 as British forces prepared to withdraw from the region. The service evolved into the Republic of Singapore Air Force, and in 1990 a new Lion Head roundel was introduced to mark Singapore's 25th year of independence and symbolize unity of purpose within the RSAF.
 
The Lion Head roundel has appeared on fighters, transports, helicopters and training aircraft, while subdued versions are used where operational camouflage requires lower visibility.
